LCC Florence Center Upgrades

Centrally located in Florence, Oregon, Lane Community College’s Florence Center is an essential educational resource for the entire western Lane County region. A wonderful collection of linked buildings nestled into a forest, the 17,426 sf facility provides a wide variety of academic and community support offerings.

Initially constructed in 1974, the facility has been expanded multiple times through the years to better serve the community. Our project addressed critical seismic, maintenance, and accessibility deficiencies and provided an array of design upgrades focused on supporting student learning.

The Florence Center offers a broad range of for-credit as well as community education courses, including classes in wellness, dance, art, science and technology. Our design capitalized on opportunities within the required upgrades to improve the facility’s function, provide long-term flexibility and support contemporary academic pedagogies.
