LCC Florence Center Upgrades

Lane Community College’s Florence Center, a 17,426 sf facility centrally located in Florence, Oregon, is an essential educational resource for the entire western Lane County region, providing a wide variety of academic and community support offerings. Our project addresses critical seismic, maintenance, and accessibility deficiencies and provides an array of upgrades focused on supporting student learning.

Initially constructed in 1974, the original facility has been expanded multiple times through the years to better serve the community. A wonderful collection of linked buildings nestled into a forest, the Center offers a broad range of for-credit as well as community education courses, including classes in wellness, dance, art, science and technology.

Our design capitalizes on opportunities within the maintenance and seismic upgrade scope to improve the facility’s function and programs, provide long-term flexibility, and support contemporary academic pedagogies with a goal of fully utilizing all available space, indoors and out.
